Beers and Blather Episode 14

The Double IPA from Southern Tier Brewing joins Don and Merritt at the table, and the tomfoolery is swiftly in full swing. The boys are joined in studio by Brett Napoli, founder and CEO of Ambition Insight, a multinational web development and consulting company.

Beer One is an enjoyable romp through the world of Casey Anthony, club bangers, and movie theatres.

In Beer Two, Brett brings his expertise to the table to discuss crazy people. His residency in South Florida, or Psycho Central, gives him a leg up in that catagory.

And the the Grab Bag touches on the all-time hit “Grillz” by Nelly feat. Paul Wall, rat tail haircuts and other michegas. As ever it’s a great time, so grab a brew, kick back, learn your jive and have some fun!!

Beers and Blather Episode 13
The Blather Boys find their reason for being over a sixer of Raison d’Etre, a delicious Dogfish Head offering. Casey Anthony comes up AGAIN for some reason in Beer One, probably because of the unrequited love between her and the hosts.Beer Two has Merritt and Don also delve into another realm of their expertise, the world of automobiles. What rules these days, what memories they have of their past vehicles, all types of things like that. And the Grab Bag goes international and totally awesome, answering questions about sports stars who would be fun to live with, the grossest of bodily functions, and only you can find out what else. Enjoy over a fine beer, like for example the Raison d’Etre. It’s totally bangin’.

Beers and Blather Episode 12

Back in the swing of things, the boys pick up a six-pack of Victory Brewing Company’s Golden Monkey and are simply blown away. Seriously, maybe the best beer to be had on the program to this point. So that dominated discussion in Beer One, along with the issues of hyperliberalism and cocaine dealing. But only hypothetically of course.

Beer Two looks to maybe the greatest event to happen to America this year, the return of football. The lockout was ended and Don and Merritt are simply ecstatic about it. So they break down what suck about the other’s teams (Raiders and Giants, listen to find out who likes what) and basically scream “Football!” over and over.

The Grab Bag features questions from across the pond about American hip-hop lingo, neccessitating the return of resident hip-hopologist David Greenburg, MD PhD Esq. Also, questions arise from suburbia over the paternity situation of Young Jeezy, and other questions from listeners.

Hope you enjoy the show!

Beers and Blather Episode 11

After a wistful couple of days, Don and Merritt hearken back to the old times and put together a show for the kiddies who enjoy the simpler things. Over six Maine Root Root Beers, they talk about childish things with the Great Jazz Whistle, winner of the Big Twitter Contest, and friend of the show T-Stew.

Root Beer One centers around the cautionary tale of Amy Winehouse and a host of other thoughts on influences on the kids today. T-Stew chimes in with a fun new angle on all these. Really refreshing.

Root Beer Two focuses like a laser on playground activities like games, toys and other fun jazz. Not only are the best things to do on the playground talked on, but also best pieces of equipment that make recess a dream.

And in Root Beer Three the Grab Bag is opened for questions from the kids. Best PG-13 movie is brought up, and even a very touchy subject in when kids should watch porn. Perfect for the experts in childcare that Beers and Blather employs.

Hope you enjoy!  And remember, reach us on Twitter @filthygrabbag or leave a comment to get included in the Grab Bag!

Over a bundle of McSorley’s Irish Pale Ale,the Blather boys have get right to it. The intense heat wave is touched in Beer One, on because everyone loves when people bitch about the heat, and the physics or chemistry of sweating off one’s balls.

Beer Two centers around the very important to everyone topic of Peak Oil, its impact, what it is, workarounds, and other mishegas involving it.

Beer Three has Don and Merritt finalize the starting 9 for the Southbury Cheesesteaks by putting together an outfield, then delving deep into the grab bag to touch on vacation ideas in Virginia, break-dance fighting, and another celebrity clash, this time between Jeff’s. Grab a beer and enjoy!

Beers and Blather Episode 7
Over a sixer of Schmaltz Brewing’s HeBrew (the Chosen Beer – L’Chaim!!) Merritt and Don get right into it. Episode seven gets a little sobering and serious as the guys relflect on the death of Jackass’ Ryan Dunn, the death of such a seeming immortal making your two hosts consider their own mortality. In part 2 they are joined by Dan Steinfeld , AKA Pedaling Powder, via phone as he takes a break in the Rockie Mountains from riding a bicycle across the country.
